Board Change – David Lawrence appointed as Interim Chairman; Clive Dix to retire from leading the Company
2 January 2025 – C4X Discovery Holdings Limited (“C4XD”), the immuno-inflammation therapeutics company, today announces that Executive Chairman, Clive Dix, has decided to step down after 10 years of service. David Lawrence has joined the Board of Directors as an independent Non-Executive Director and has been appointed as Interim Non-Executive Chairman with immediate effect until a permanent CEO and Chairman is in place.
During Clive’s tenure, C4XD has focused on building a robust immuno-inflammatory portfolio, underpinned by its unique PatientSeek genetic insights platform. The business has secured multiple agreements, including licensing deals, with leading pharmaceutical partners. Clive has overseen a growing pipeline, with a lead oral a4b7 integrin inhibitor programme in inflammatory bowel disease, and progress being made with C4XD’s oral PAD4 inhibitor for rheumatoid arthritis.
Clive Dix, Executive Chairman of C4XD, said: “C4XD has been an inspirational place to work, with exceptional science and people at its heart, and I could not be more proud of the Company we have built. I thank the team at C4XD for a wonderful 10 years and I wish them every success for the future. I am delighted that David Lawrence, an industry veteran, will be leading the Company until a permanent successor is appointed. David is currently a Non-Executive Director at EnteroBiotix, a UK private, clinical-stage microbiome company, and Glen Clova Scientific, a UK private biotech creating a new class of active biologics. He began his career at GSK and has held senior and executive roles at leading companies such as Chiron Vaccines which was acquired by Novartis and Acambis which was acquired by Sanofi and Valneva, where he led its US IPO. David also co-founded Synpromics, a synthetic biology company, where he recruited the senior management team and the Board; Synpromics was acquired by Ask Bio in 2019.
